After the sunrise, the big circuit at Angkor Wat…

When you buy the three-day ticket (if time permits that’s the best way to go) you can do what we did: visit the ruins of Angkor Wat at dawn and then go to other temples that probably won’t be so full of people, as everyone will be in the main one at that time of the morning.

Honestly in this temple I got lost 🙂 🙂 Lintels, windows, columns, trees among the abandoned buildings (many of which are undergoing restoration), moss on the rocks, etc. The contrast of the green on the dark rock is truly impressive.

This year we have been to many, many temples, but few that are so well preserved (considering their age) and with bas-reliefs and landscapes like the ones in Cambodia. As it was the first one we visited, I took lots of pictures … Fábio reminded me that there were still many more to visit 🙂

To access Neak Poan you have to enter via a walkway over the lake. Noah had already regained some energy by this point and started to run around like Mowgli, going into the jungle to discover new routes 🙂

At Ta Som, if you enter through the temple then you’ll get a natural visual gift towards the end. A huge tree has draped its roots over one of the structures and the sight is simply spectacular.

We stopped for a while at East Mebon … At this point we were getting tired, although not so much that we couldn’t visit it and climb all the levels 🙂

At 3:30pm we were already back at the hotel and wanting to rest, having visited the Preah Promreath Pagoda and had lunch. The feeling of having taken full advantage of and calmly enjoyed the day was special, so we were very happy to have the rest of the afternoon to ourselves.
