Glenn Canyon National Recreational Area – Lake Powell – Arizona

It was time to relax by the waters of Lake Powell inside Glenn Canyon National Recreational Area. This is one of the many leisure areas in the US that is chosen by tourists and locals as a place to relax and park their RV’s for few days. We didn’t have any RV, so instead, we simply parked our rental car in a place where we could enjoy a bit of the views and the calm waters of Lake Powell.

Lake Powell feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert and in Solo Rock it was the best part for Noah as he got to cool off and play in the sand.

And then there is the dam, named after the canyon, with a colorful series of gorges, most of which now lies under the reservoir.

Lake Powell is a man-made lake located inside the Glenn National Recreational Area. It attracts numerous campers daily, who park their RVs, set up their base camps and enjoy the tranquility, the lake, the sand, the weather and spend time with family and friends for a few days.

It would definitely be nice to spend a few days at Glenn Canyon and Lake Powell camping and to bring boats, kayaks and skis to play in the water, to have some barbecues in front of the lake and just chat with friends for hours on end as if there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time, camping equipment, an RV or a grill, but we still managed to make the most of the lake and the surrounding area.

Noah got to play for a long time in the sand, building castles and also cooling off in the water with both Ruth and me.
