If you’ve been to Tenerife, you’ll definitely have heard the name of Brunelli’s Steakhouse. If you haven’t been to try their variety of international cuts of meat, you’ll have seen lots of advertising for the restaurant and its iconic cow’s head dish when passing through the towns on the island.
For us, what guarantees its quality and good work is that this restaurant is linked with the established Loro Parque, Siam Park and Hotel Botanico.
Tenerife’s cuisine (as well as that of much of the Canary Islands) has a special connection with meat, so Brunelli’s is an exclusive setting for reveling in all the varieties and cuts that are out there.
When we arrived, we were assigned a beautiful table with some privileged views of the sea at Punta Brava. They offered us an appetizer while we waited. They brought us some bread, butter and spicy sauce, which was perfect for my taste as it wasn’t too spicy or too sweet – just perfectly balanced.
To begin with they offered us a small portion of watercress soup with croutons. Following that, we ordered some delicious chicken croquettes, house chorizo and the exceptional Brunelli’s salad to share. This is highly recommended, as it has a combination of different types of lettuce, tomato, mango, avocado and two sauces. DELICIOUS in capital letters …
The head butcher came over to our table, and as he was Uruguayan Fabio had a natural conversation starter. He showed us the 7 different types of meat (Spanish, Dutch, Uruguayan, American,…) and we were able to choose the juiciest pieces: a sirloin and a steak. They brought us the two pans with the cuts of meat.
Honestly, everything was delicious and when we thought we’d finished eating they brought us dessert: Brunelli’s dessert tasting menu. It’s a good job we shared! 🙂 For me, the pear in Barolo wine was delicious and I’d totally recommend it, although I know that the brownie with melted chocolate in the middle was one of Fabio’s favorites.
We definitely liked Brunelli’s a lot and it’s an elegant place to spend an evening as a family (even though this time we went as a couple 🙂 ).
